| This training is designed for 9th - 10th grade teachers. They will learn how to competently and confidently implement the H.E.L.P. (Helping Every Living Person) Suicide Prevention Curriculum in their classrooms. By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Identify the key concepts of the H.E.L.P. curriculum
- Recognize the learning objectives for each of the 4-45 minute units
- Understand the myths and facts of youth suicide • Lead student problem solving around obstacles to helping a friend in need
- Teach students to use key intervention skills with a depressed/suicidal friend
- Facilitate student practice of intervention skills
